Onero™: Strength Training for Stronger Bones

At ScoliosisPTJax, we’re proud to offer Onero™, a scientifically backed exercise program designed specifically for individuals with osteopenia or osteoporosis. Developed in 2015 by Dr. Belinda Beck, a world leader in bone health research, Onero is based on groundbreaking studies, including the well-known LIFTMOR trials, which show that the right kind of exercise can significantly improve bone density and strength, and reduce fall risk.

Why Bone Health Matters

Bone health is crucial for everyone, especially those at risk for conditions like osteopenia and osteoporosis. Osteoporosis affects over 10 million Americans and is responsible for more than 2 million fractures every year. Women are disproportionately affected, making up about 80% of all diagnoses, particularly post-menopausal women.

These fractures can lead to a significant loss of independence, mobility, and quality of life. While medications are available and can be helpful, osteoporosis remains a significant health concern. That’s where Onero™ comes in.

What is Onero™?

Onero™ is an award-winning, evidence-based exercise program designed to improve bone health through high-intensity resistance and impact training..  It’s performed under the supervision of certified Onero™ practitioners and has consistently delivered solid clinical outcomes since 2013.

How is Onero™ Different?

Unlike traditional osteoporosis programs that avoid impact and heavy loading, Onero™ is based on decades of clinical research showing that the only way to improve bone mass meaningfully is through structured, progressive loading. Each exercise is modified to meet your specific health profile and is performed under the careful guidance of your clinician to maximize both results and safety.

  • Improve bone mineral density.
  • Strengthen muscles
  • Improve posture, balance, and coordination.
  • Reduce the risk of falls and fractures.s

Unlike general fitness classes, Onero™ is customized, supervised, and research-driven, delivering measurable results in a safe, supportive environment.

Why Choose Us?

The clinicians at ScoliosisPTJax are licensed and trained in the Onero program.  We bring a unique and passionate approach to managing osteoporosis. Our goal is to help clients improve their bone density so that they can be stronger and more confident.

We are a licensed Onero™ provider through The Bone Clinic in Australia and contribute to ongoing research led by Dr. Belinda Beck and Griffith University.

What to Expect

Step 1: Initial Assessment – 55 minutes ($195)
We begin with a comprehensive assessment of your strength, balance, and functional movement. Please bring your most recent bone density (DEXA) scan. You’ll also begin learning the key exercises with one-on-one instruction. Some clients may need a second one-on-one session for added support.

Step 2: Small Group Classes
Once ready, you’ll join a small group in twice-weekly supervised classes. We aim to empower you to progress safely and load your exercises over time. You’ll receive ongoing support and feedback to ensure proper progression and technique.

Step 3: Stay Consistent
Research shows improvements after 9+ months. We recommend a long-term commitment, with your provider possibly ordering a follow-up DEXA scan after 12–24 months to track progress.
