Donné Odile is the owner of ScoliosisPTJax and has been a physical therapist for over 20 years.
Her love for helping people brought her to the world of scoliosis. She proudly founded ScoliosisPTJax in 2019 with a focus on Scoliosis for both children, adolescents, and adults.
Donné graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in Biology and received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. She is certified in the Schroth Method for treating scoliosis and kyphosis through the Schroth Barcelona Institute and Scoliosis and Spine Online Learning. She has attended multiple continuing education courses for scoliosis, kyphosis, and other back conditions including from the Postural Restoration Institute and she is pursuing her certification in Barnes myofascial technique.
Donné is married and has 3 boys, Justin, Brayden, and Andan. When she is not in the studio she loves spending time with her family outside at the beach, hiking, or traveling.
Yoga: Mary Anne began her journey in mind-body therapeutics over 27 years ago. She worked with senior yoga teachers including Aadil Palkhivala the founder of Purna Yoga; and senior Iyengar teacher Jehanghir Palkhivala of Mumbai, India Mary Anne is certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Her therapeutic knowledge includes hatha yoga with the use of all yoga props including the Great Wall of Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Mary Anne also teaches instructors how to use of the yoga wall therapeutics.
Pilates: Concurrent with her yoga studies, Mary Anne began therapeutic Pilates training in 1998 with Polestar Education founders Elizabeth Larkam and Brent Andersen. She became a Polestar Graduate in Post-Rehabilitation in 2001 and has continued her advanced Pilates studies with Dr. Andersen and other senior Polestar Pilates instructors.
Realizing the experience of pain affects our ability to experience human joy, Mary Anne pursued the study of meditation as a complementary and effective practice to yoga and Pilates. She began studies with Dr. Deepak Chopra in 2004. She is certified by the Chopra Center and has taught various meditation workshops for those seeking relief from both physical and mental blocks to peace and joy
Mary Anne is married and has 4 grand babies all under the age of 6. In her free time, Mary Anne, enjoys walks in nature, creative writing and traveling.
Laurie is a licensed Physical Therapist and a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. A native New Yorker, Laurie graduated from the University of Delaware in 1991 with a BA in Biological Sciences prior to obtaining her Master of Physical Therapy shortly after in 1993. She is a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, completing her Comprehensive Pilates for Rehabilitation on all apparatus through Polestar Pilates in 2018 prior to becoming certified through the National Pilates Certification Program in 2019. Laurie is very passionate about her commitment to the art of Pilates: combining her physical therapy background with Pilates allows her the ability to successfully work with a wide range of clients. She has a special interest in working with youth athletes and women to integrate purposeful movement into their training. She is dedicated to her continuing education and avid in seeking resources to expand her knowledge base. Laurie regularly attends conferences, seminars as well as workshops in multiple disciplines including Pilates, physical therapy, health, and wellness. When not in the studio, you will find Laurie playing soccer mom or surf mom supporting her two children in their activities, exploring new travel destinations with her family, riding ocean waves on a paddleboard, outdoors riding her bike or simply on a walk enjoying the outdoors.
